AC Milan XI vs Napoli – Predicted lineup and team news

AC Milan are set to meet Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final on Thursday at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Despite already getting the better of Napoli in Serie A earlier this season, Milan will not expected to underestimate Antonio Conte’s side.

Massimiliano Allegri’s team come into the tie unbeaten in their last two Serie A fixtures. Their most recent league match ended in a 2-2 draw at home to Sassuolo, a result that leaves AC Milan second in the Serie A table on 32 points, one point ahead of Napoli and one behind leaders Inter Milan.

AC Milan team news

The Rossoneri have been dealt a setback in defence, with centre-back Matteo Gabbia suffering a hyperextension injury to his left knee during the 2-2 draw with Sassuolo on December 14. Subsequent medical examinations have provided some reassurance, confirming there is no serious long-term damage to the ligaments or meniscus.

Even so, Gabbia is projected to miss the Supercoppa Italiana clash but should recover in time to return for the Serie A fixture against Hellas Verona on December 28.

In attack, Christian Pulisic continues to be Milan’s standout player this season, registering seven goals and two assists across 10 Serie A appearances, underlining his status as their main offensive weapon. The United States international has been clinical in front of the goal, hitting the target with 11 of his 15 attempts, giving him an impressive shooting accuracy of 73.33%.

AC Milan predicted lineup

Possible AC Milan starting XI: Maignan; De Winter, Tomori, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Nkunku.

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Thursday, 18th December.
