Rudiger labels Chelsea’s display against Everton as ‘unacceptable.’

Antonio Rudiger says Chelsea’s display in their 2-0 defeat at Everton as ‘unacceptable’.

Second half goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson condemned Maurizio Sarri’s side to defeat at Goodison Park, with the Blues having missed the opportunity to go level with fourth placed Arsenal.

German defender Rudiger was critical of his side’s display, labelling Chelsea’s second half performance as ‘passive’.

“It was the same against Wolves, but this time we lost. We played a good first half but we didn’t score. It is unacceptable the way we came out [after the break] and we lost the game in 10 minutes.’’ Rudiger told Sky Sports.

“We were passive and that is dangerous in this league. We played well in the first half, but the way we approached the second half was unacceptable.”

When asked about the mood in the Chelsea dressing room, the 26-year-old centre-back replied.

“Everyone deals with it differently but it’s unacceptable and I’m sorry. We still have eight games to go but we cannot always say ‘next week,’ we really have to do better because we normally aren’t allowed to lose this match.”
