Marco Silva has lavished praised on Jordan Pickford after the goalkeeper’s performance in Everton’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.
Goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson secured an impressive win for Everton, with Pickford excelling in goal with a string of smart saves.
The England international has come under criticism this season after a series of below-par performances, but Everton boss Silva was full of praise for the 25-year-old following a strong showing at Goodison Park on Sunday.
“Jordan Pickford deserved a very, very good performance,’’ Silva told BBC Sport.
“He achieved so many important things last season – he became England’s number one, he’s playing for a big club and all the highlights are on him.
“So it’s normal now to ask about him when good things happen and the same when not. He’s a professional and open to us working with him on things and I’m sure he will achieve what he deserves.”
