Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus to sign Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old had been on loan at AC Milan with an option to buy at the end of the season, but according to Sky Sports, Serie A Champions Juve have agreed to terminate that deal and allow the player to move to Stamford Bridge.
Former Real Madrid striker Higuain enjoyed the most successful season of his career playing under current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri at Napoli.
During the 2015/16 season, the Argentina international netted a sensational 36 goals in just 35 Serie A appearances, before joining Juventus for £80 million.
Sarri had been keen to link up with the prolific frontman again during the summer, although Chelsea’s hierarchy were said to have reservations about signing the player, although it now seems that the pair will be reunited in the Premier League.
Chelsea have struggled for goals so far this season with both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling for form, so the Blues will be hopeful that Higuain can bring the type of goalscoring form he has shown throughout his career to West London and help the club finish in the top four.
