Chelsea have now joined Newcastle United and Brighton in the race for AIK winger Zadok Yohanna.
Yohanna has attracted interest from several Premier League teams with Brighton having been close to a transfer for the 18-year-old. The Seagulls have reached a verbal agreement with AIK for the transfer of Yohannah, but are awaiting approval from the player’s camp.
The Nigerian now has numerous options on the table with Newcastle having expressed concrete interest in a deal.
According to reports in Sweden, the Magpies have submitted an offer of €24 million (£20.7m) for the player. That offer eclipses the €23m bid on the table from Brighton.
Sky Germany are reporting that Chelsea have now entered the race and are readying a proposal for the teenager.
A left-footed winger with a preference for the right flank, Yohanna’s breakout season in Sweden has led to interest from around Europe. The teenager has scored twice in seven appearances this season and earned his first Nigeria call-up in May.
“He has an impressive array of strengths, including his dribbling, close-range technique, outstanding one-on-one ability and a sensitive left foot,’ AIK scouting manager, Fredrik Wisur Hansen, said of Yohanna.
