Our seasonal Power Rankings are drawing to a close, but there’s still time this week for late-season surges to take teams into the table.
10. AS Roma 🆕
Roma can hear the distant sound of the Champions League anthem with the capital club closing in on a return to the big time.
After seven seasons without Champions League football, I Giallorossi are so very nearly there. A 2-0 win over Lazio in the Derby della Capitale continued their winning run, and the equation is simple. Beat 19th-place Verona on the final day, and the Champions League awaits.
9. Aston Villa 🆕
Unai Emery insisted this week that he is not the ‘king’ of the Europa League, but we beg to differ. The Spaniard secured his record-extending fifth Europa League title this week as Aston Villa thrashed Freiburg to take the trophy. A first major trophy in 30 years has cemented his standing at Villa Park.

8. Manchester United ↔️
Michael Carrick has said a decision will be made on his Manchester United future ‘very soon’ and there can only be one outcome. An impressive 11 wins in 16 games has earned him the right to take on the permanent gig.
7. Real Madrid ↔️
Real Madrid’s season is ending with a whimper, but a 1-0 win at Sevilla has at least added some positivity to the place.
Jose Mourinho is heading back to the Bernabeu, and we cannot wait. It might be epic, it might be implosive. Either way, we’ll be entertained.
6. Inter Milan ↔️
A champagne hangover might have contributed to Inter’s inability to beat relegated Verona at the weekend, despite hogging 75% of the ball. It’s fair to say that Inter have earned that off-day; however, with a domestic double added to the cabinet.
5. Manchester City ↔️
Speaking of domestic doubles… Manchester City claimed a domestic cup double after adding the FA Cup to their League Cup success earlier in the season. Antoine Semenyo’s sublime flick earned a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley, and a 20th trophy for Pep Guardiola.
It’s set to be his final one with an Etihad exit imminent, but it’s sure been one hell of a ride.
A moment of magic 🪄✨

4. Barcelona ↔️
Barcelona have not stepped off the gas despite wrapping up La Liga title success.
The Catalans cruised past Real Betis 3-1 at the weekend, with Raphinha scoring twice. If Barca beat Valencia at The Mestalla this weekend, they’ll have recorded the fourth-highest points return in La Liga history (97).
3. Arsenal ↔️
Arsenal have done it! More than two decades of hurt, pressure, and frustration is over after the Gunners were crowned Premier League champions. Manchester City’s slip at Bournemouth means the North Londoners can not be caught, securing their first top-flight title since 2004.
The celebrations have started, but there’s still one big challenge ahead. Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final will be a momentous occasion.

2. Bayern Munich ↔️
Bayern Munich completed their record-breaking Bundesliga campaign in, well, Bayern fashion. Harry Kane hit a hat-trick as the Bavarians blasted five past Köln to end the season on 122 goals.
Bayern’s 122 goals in the Bundesliga are a top-five league record this century and have shattered their own 101-goal record set in the 1971/72 season.
Most league goals scored in a single season in Europe’s top five leagues this Millennium:

1. Paris Saint-Germain ↔️
Defeat to Paris FC will not be how PSG wanted to end their Ligue 1 campaign, but it’s a result that ultimately matters little. Luis Enrique rotated his team, with bigger things on the horizon. Later this month, PSG bid to become only the second team to defend the trophy in the Champions League era.
