Liverpool have been dealt yet another injury blow this season as Alexander Isak missed Sunday’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The striker is dealing with a groin issue that has ruled him out of action for this weekend, although Reds boss Arne Slot insists “it wasn’t much” of a serious problem. However, it is “too much” for him to play.
With Mo Salah also out injured, Ryan Gravenberch and Jeremie Frimpong were brought into the starting lineup. Cody Gakpo started up front in Isak’s stead.
Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha was deemed fit to start for Man Utd after missing the Brentford game with a hip injury. The Brazilian attacker marked his return with the opening goal in the game, before Benjamin Sesko doubled their lead in the first half.
