Celtic are set to take on St Mirren once again this month, this time in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The Hoops have been in solid domestic form, winning four of their last five matches. They edged past St Mirren 1–0 just last week, while also picking up a 2–1 win over Dundee and a convincing 3–1 victory against Motherwell. Their only setback in that run was a 2–0 defeat to Dundee United. In the Scottish Cup, Celtic progressed to the semi-finals after a disciplined goalless draw against Rangers, eventually winning on penalties.
Celtic team news
Preparations for this clash have been disrupted by a growing injury list, leaving interim boss Martin O’Neill short of defensive options.
Celtic will be without Kasper Schmeichel and Cameron Carter-Vickers due to long-term shoulder and Achilles injuries. Liam Scales is suspended, while Jota and Julian Araujo are ruled out for the remainder of the season.
There is some hope that Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand could return from hamstring injuries, but this match is expected to come too soon for either player to feature from the start.
On a positive note, Arne Engels and Reo Hatate, both have regained full fitness, offering a timely boost in midfield.
Celtic predicted lineup
Possible Celtic starting XI: Sinisalo; Ralston, Trusty, Arthur, Saracchi; McGregor, Nygren, Hatate; Maeda, Iheanacho, Tounekti
When will the match kick off?
The match will kick off at 2 pm BST on Sunday, 19th April.
