Juventus team news
Luciano Spalletti’s squad is expected to be close to full strength for Monday’s clash, with Dusan Vlahovic having made his comeback a couple of weeks ago from a lengthy injury absence.
However, the manager has been candid about the Serbian striker’s readiness, saying: “He trained well and is available, but I doubt he’ll be able to start. He could give us a hand.”
Jeremie Boga, who has impressed as a false nine in recent weeks, could therefore be preferred up front from the start.
Vasilije Adžic is currently the only notable player sidelined, while Weston McKennie and Lloyd Kelly are one yellow card away from a one-game suspension.
Mattia Perin is expected to start in goal, while Kenan Yıldız is set to start on the wings.
Kenan Yildiz has been phenomenal this season, accumulating 16 goal contributions — including a double-digit goal tally across 29 appearances. The Turkish attacker scored in Juve’s most recent outing against Sassuolo and will be central to any attacking ambitions on Monday.
Genoa team news
Both Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Maxwel Cornet are carrying muscular problems and face a race against time to be involved. At the same time, Dutch goalkeeper Justin Bijlow — who joined on loan in January and has quickly nailed down the starting spot — will guard Genoa’s goal.
Norwegian centre-back Leo Ostigard has been a standout performer for the Grifone, netting five Serie A goals this season.
Up front, Lorenzo Colombo, the top scorer for Genoa this season is expected to lead the line, supported by Junior Messias and Vitinha in the attacking midfield roles, while Morten Frendrup and Ruslan Malinovskyi are set to anchor the centre of the park.
Form
Juventus
Juventus have gathered just nine points from their previous seven league outings — a return of two victories, three stalemates and two losses — which has left them sitting fifth in the table, a position that could fall short of the Champions League ambitions the club holds.
The most damaging recent moment came against Sassuolo (1-1), when Kenan Yildiz put them ahead, only for captain Manuel Locatelli to squander a late penalty against his former club, gifting Como the chance to move three points clear in the top-four race.
Genoa
Under Daniele De Rossi, who arrived in the autumn, Genoa have assembled a run of ten points from seven matches spanning February to the international break, including a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Roma. However, their momentum was interrupted just before the break when they fell to a 2-0 home defeat against Udinese.
Predicted lineups
Juventus: Perin; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, McKennie, Boga; Yildiz
Genoa: Bijlow; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Vasquez; Ellertsson, Frendrup, Malinovskyi, Martin; Baldanzi, Vitinha; Colombo
