Jurgen Klopp has branded reports linking him to the Real Madrid as “nonsense”, but suggested that he could return to football management in the future.Â
The former Liverpool boss has been mooted as a potential replacement for Alvaro Arbeloa, who was named head coach until the end of this season after Xabi Alonso was sacked.
Klopp, who is currently Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, has not coached since leaving the Reds at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
The 58-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United and England as well as a possible return to Anfield, but last year insisted that he doesn’t want to coach anymore as he doesn’t miss anything about the job.
In his latest comments, however, Klopp opened the door to one day returning to the dugout, revealing that he’s “not completely finished”.

“If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now,” he told reporters at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich.
“But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven’t called him either.

“Right now I’m not thinking about that, luckily there’s no reason to.
“For my age I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age.
“Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned.”
One thing that we know for sure is that Klopp will not manage another club in the Premier League other than Liverpool, something he made absolutely clear when he announced his departure two years ago.
