Morocco face Senegal in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final this evening.
The host nation take on Senegal at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, aiming to end the nation’s 50-year wait for an AFCON title.
It’s a first final in over two decades for Morocco, who entered the tournament as the number-one ranked side – and backed by an expectant home support.
In their path tonight are Senegal, who have reached a third AFCON final in four attempts. The Lions of Teranga won their first continental title in 2021, with both nations aiming for a second overall success.
Morocco team news
Head coach Walid Regragui, who was part of the Morocco side that finished as runners-up in 2004, is again expected to be without former Wolves defender Roman Saiss and midfielder Azzedine Ounahi. It’s otherwise a full-strength squad for The Atlas Lions who, unlike Senegal, do not have suspension absentees.
Brahim Diaz’s goal run ended in the goalless semi-final against Nigeria, but the Real Madrid midfielder will again be the man to provide spark. In attack, Regragui must decide between
Ayoub El Kaabi and Youssef En-Nesyri at centre-forward. The former has not scored in the knockout rounds to date.
Morocco predicted lineup
Predicted Morocco XI: Bono; Hakimi, Aguerd, Masina, Mazraoui; El Aynaoui; Diaz, El Khannouss, Saibari, Ezzalzouli; El Kaabi.
