Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Antoine Semenyo will make his Manchester City debut in tomorrow’s FA Cup tie with Exeter City.
Semenyo signed for City from Bournemouth on a five-and-a-half year deal on Friday, after the two teams agreed a transfer fee of £62.5m.
The Ghana international joins after an impressive campaign at Bournemouth and Guardiola has confirmed the new recruit will go straight into his squad. City host third-tier Exeter at the Etihad on Saturday.
“He is down to be selected. I don’t know whether he will start or not, but he will be selected, for sure,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.
Guardiola has urged the Manchester City fans to be patient with Semenyo. Despite the player’s proven quality in the Premier League, Guardiola has said there is no pressure on the 26-year-old to make an instant impact.

“To understand that he doesn’t come here for one, two or three games, he comes for many years so he has all the time in the world.
“I know he is exceptional guy that we have. The team will embrace him because this specific group of players and club to make the people when they arrive so comfortable. He will adapt quick.”
