Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has said he would ‘never do something that stupid’ deliberately after being pictured holding a coffee cup with an Arsenal logo.
Frank was seen carrying a coffee cup emblazoned with Arsenal’s club crest ahead of Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The late defeat at The Vitality Stadium has increased the pressure on Frank, who has struggled to win over the Spurs support since his summer move from Brentford.
Spurs are 14th in the Premier League table after Antoine Semenyo’s stoppage-time winner condemned Frank’s side to an eighth defeat of the season.
The image of Frank holding a coffee cup displaying the club crest of his side’s fierce North London rivals has done little to improve his standing.
Discussing the cup at full-time, Frank said he ‘did not notice’ the Arsenal image. He added he would never purposely ‘do something that stupid’.
“I definitely did not notice it,” Frank said.
“It would be completely stupid of me to take it if I knew.

“It’s a little bit sad in football that I need to be asked about it. I would never do something that stupid.
“I think we’re definitely going in the wrong direction if we need to worry about me having a cup with a logo of another club.”
