West Ham host Brighton in the Premier League tonight in each side’s final fixture of 2025.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are struggling in the league this season and remain in the relegation places after losing to Fulham last time out. West Ham are five points from safety and are now seven games without a win in the Premier League. The Irons have lost their last three league fixtures.
Pressure is also building on Fabian Hurzeler at Brighton. The Seagulls are similarly struggling and have not tasted victory in their last five Premier League games. However, Brighton have a healthy 11-point cushion over the relegation places.
West Ham team news
Full-back duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf remain absent for West Ham, with each representing their nation at the Africa Cup of Nations.
They’re joined on the absentee list by the injured Niclas Fullkrug, who continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan. Callum Wilson could come back into the side in Fullkrug’s absence as West Ham search for goals.
Elsewhere, Nuno is expected to stick with Oliver Scarles despite his costly error against Fulham. The academy graduate fluffed his clearance in the build-up to Fulham’s late winner and was visibly emotional at full-time.
