Chelsea receive transfer enquiries for out of favour defender

Axel Disasi is set to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window with multiple clubs enquiring about the out-of-favour defender.

Disasi has not made a senior appearance for Chelsea this season with the Frenchman informed he does not feature in Enzo Maresca’s plans.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but failed to secure a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

An exit is now expected in January, with Fabrizio Romano confirming several sides are considering approaches for the centre-back.

AC Milan have been linked with Disasi, though there has been no ‘concrete negotiations’ between Chelsea and the Italian side as things stand. Wolves and Bournemouth have also previously courted the defender.

Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco for a fee of £38.5m in 2023 but has struggled for favour since Enzo Maresca’s arrival as head coach.
