Four Premier League suitors for out-of-favour Arsenal teen

Myles Lewis-Skelly is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs as the Arsenal defender considers a January exit in search of minutes.

Lewis-Skelly has been dropped from the England squad for November’s internationals with Serbia and Albania, having struggled for a regular role at Arsenal this season.

The 19-year-old was one of the breakout stars of last season, breaking into the Arsenal team and marking his senior England debut with a goal in March. He was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, but has fallen out of favour so far this season.

Lewis-Skelly has played just 87 minutes of football in the Premier League and is yet to start a league game for Mikel Arteta’s side. England boss Thomas Tuchel has said the defender needs more minutes if he is to make the squad for next summer’s World Cup, leading Lewis-Skelly to consider his options.

According to CaughtOffside, multiple Premier League clubs are keen on a January loan deal. Among them include Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal will be reluctant to let Lewis-Skelly leave as the club chase success on multiple fronts, but a push from the player could pave the path for an exit. Riccardo Calafiori has been Arsenal’s first-choice option at left-back this season, while Piero Hincapie and Jurrien Timber are each capable of deputising.
