Inter Milan team news

Cristian Chivu’s side will be without several key players heading into Sunday’s encounter. Matteo Darmian, Carlos Palacios, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Raffaele Di Gennaro remain sidelined through injury. Palacios and Darmian are not expected to return until late November.

The Romanian coach has opted for a significant squad rotation in preparation for the international break, with Francesco Acerbi set to reclaim his position in the backline alongside Akanji and Bastoni.

Hakan Calhanoglu, the vital regista, is poised to return to the starting eleven after being used only as a substitute in midweek Champions League action against Kairat Almaty, which Inter won 2-1.

Young forward Ange-Yoan Bonny is poised to partner Lautaro Martinez in attack, with the latter having scored three goals in ten Serie A appearances this campaign. Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco are expected to take up their positions on the flanks.

Lazio team news

Maurizio Sarri’s squad will be without Alessio Romagnoli for Sunday’s clash at San Siro. The experienced defender suffered a mild flexor injury during Lazio’s victory over Cagliari on Monday, November 3rd, and his availability remains uncertain with limited time for recovery before the fixture. Oliver Provstgaard is standing by as a replacement should Romagnoli fail to prove his fitness.

Also injured are Nuno Tavares (muscle), Fisayo Dele-Bashiru(thigh), Valentin Castellanos(muscle), and Mateo Cancellieri(muscle). Samuel Gigot and Nicolo Rovello are also doubtful for the match.

The Biancocelesti’s goalkeeper Ivan Provedel has been in outstanding form, recording six clean sheets in ten Serie A matches this season, including four consecutive shut-outs stretching back to their 2-0 win over Cagliari.

Forward Mattia Zaccagni, who scored his third goal against Cagliari with a late 91st-minute finish, returns to full fitness and is expected to feature prominently in Sarri’s attacking setup on the left wing. Defensive midfielder Danilo Cataldi and midfielder Matteo Guendouzi are expected to anchor the midfield alongside Toma Basic.

Form

Inter Milan

Cristian Chivu has steadied the ship admirably since taking over in June 2025. The Nerazzurri have won five consecutive home matches at San Siro, demonstrating impressive form in front of their own supporters.

Their most recent outing saw them edge out Hellas Verona 2-1 away from home. Piotr Zielinski scored his first league goal of the season in style, before an own goal from Martin Frese sealed victory in the dying moments.

In the Champions League, Inter dispatched Kairat Almaty 2-1 at home on Wednesday.

Lazio

After a concerning start that saw them lose three of their opening four fixtures, Maurizio Sarri’s side has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround.

The Rome outfit is currently unbeaten in six consecutive matches across all competitions. Their last outing resulted in a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Cagliari, with goals from Gustaf Isaksen and Zaccagni securing all three points.
