Liverpool look to put their Premier League woes behind them when Crystal Palace arrive at Anfield in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The champions have lost four consecutive games in the Premier League, as Arne Slot’s side suffer from a mini-crisis. A cup clash with Crystal Palace offers a tough test, however, with the Eagles unbeaten in the previous three meetings between the sides. That includes a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park in September that kickstarted Liverpool’s losing league run.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – Predicted lineup and team news
Liverpool team news
Arne Slot’s issues added up at the weekend when Curtis Jones was substituted at Brentford. The midfielder joins Ryan Gravenberch on the sidelines, leaving Liverpool light in midfield.
Also absent are Alisson Becker and Jeremie Frimpong due to hamstring issues, while Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury on his debut for the Reds earlier in this competition. Alexander Isak played no part in the loss at Brentford as he battles with a groin injury and remains a doubt.
Slot is reportedly considering two shock introductions to his side. Third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman could debut, while forgotten figure Calvin Ramsay is an option at right-back. Ramsay last featured for Liverpool in November 2022, with recent seasons spent injured and out on loan.
Liverpool predicted lineup
Liverpool possible starting XI: Mamardashvili; Ramsay, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister; Chiesa, Szoboszlai, Ngumoha; Ekitike.
