- Kick-off: 6:30pm BST.
- Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Rome.
AS Roma Team News
Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini could welcome back several players after their crucial 1-0 victory over Sassuolo. The Giallorossi extended their impressive away record and joined Napoli at the Serie A summit with Paulo Dybala scoring his first league goal of the season.
Dybala has been in excellent form recently, netting his 200th career goal against Viktoria Plzen before following it up with the match-winner at Sassuolo. The Argentine forward has scored 43 goals in 118 appearances for Roma since joining in the summer of 2022.
Midfielder Edoardo Bove remains sidelined indefinitely with heart issues, while Spanish wing-back Angelino continues his recovery from bronchitis. Gasperini confirmed that Angelino “will need time to return” and must work on his conditioning. Kostas Tsimikas or Mario Hermoso are likely to deputise.
Parma Team News
Parma arrive at the Stadio Olimpico desperately searching for goals, having failed to score in their last three Serie A matches. Carlos Cuesta’s side have netted just three times in eight league games, giving them the worst attacking record in Serie A.
Despite their offensive struggles, Parma showed defensive resilience with consecutive 0-0 draws against Genoa and Como. Cuesta expressed satisfaction with his team’s organisation, stating: “I’m pleased; this is the right path. To win, it’s not just about scoring, but also defending as a team – this is our style. Now we have a tough match ahead at the Olimpico”.
The visitors’ injury list is extensive. Emanuele Valeri is recovering from a thigh injury and will not return until early November. Pontus Almqvist remains doubtful with a muscle injury, while Gaetano Oristanio is dealing with an adductor strain.
Strikers Patrick Cutrone and Mateo Pellegrino will lead the line. Pellegrino scored both goals in their 2-1 victory over Torino, providing rare attacking output for the struggling visitors.
Form
AS Roma
Gasperini’s side rebounded from consecutive defeats to Inter and Viktoria Plzen with a hard-fought win at Sassuolo. Roma have been exceptional away from home this season, winning all five away fixtures in all competitions.
However, their home form has been inconsistent with two losses at the Stadio Olimpico. The capital club boasts the best defensive record in Serie A, having conceded just three goals in eight matches.
Parma
Parma have endured a difficult campaign, managing just one victory in their opening eight fixtures. The Crusaders sit precariously in 15th position with seven points. Their attacking struggles have been alarming – Parma are yet to score away from home this season.
Predicted Lineups
AS Roma: Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Ndicka; Tsimikas, Cristante, Kone, Wesley; Pellegrini, Bailey; Dybala..
Parma: Suzuki; Delprato, Circati, Valenti; Britschgi, Estevez, Keita, Ordonez, Bernabe; Pellegrino, Cutrone.
