Arne Slot’s side ended a run of four straight defeats in all competitions with a resounding midweek win in Europe. However, they face a Brentford team buoyed by their own recent victory and looking to cause another upset against the Reds, having lost the last five encounters.

Team News

Brentford

Keith Andrews has reported no new injuries following their win at West Ham. Defender Aaron Hickey remains unavailable but is nearing a return to training. Midfielder Antoni Milambo is out long-term. Conversely, Paris Maghoma and Gustavo Nunes are both fit and available for selection.

Liverpool

Arne Slot faces significant doubts over midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) and striker Alexander Isak (groin), both injured in midweek. Furthermore, Jeremie Frimpong is ruled out with a hamstring injury, joining goalkeeper Alisson Becker and defender Giovanni Leoni on the sidelines. Hugo Ekitike is fit to lead the line.

Form

Brentford

The Bees secured their first away win of the season with a convincing 2-0 victory at West Ham on Monday, lifting them to 13th. That win ended a run of two straight defeats. They now seek back-to-back league victories for the first time since May, although they have lost their last five consecutive meetings with Liverpool.

Liverpool

The Reds arrested an alarming four-game losing streak with a dominant 5-1 Champions League win in Frankfurt. However, their league form remains a major concern. They have lost their last three Premier League games – all via goals conceded in the final 10 minutes – and could lose four in a row for the first time since February 2021. Their recent away record in London is also dreadful, having lost the last four.

Predicted Lineups

Brentford predicted XI: Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Ajer; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago

Liverpool predicted XI: Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Jones; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike
