Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid – Predicted lineup and team news

Arsenal host Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, aiming to cement their position in the top half of the Champions League with a third consecutive victory.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been defensively flawless in Europe so far. Furthermore, they are chasing a historic seventh straight win against Spanish opposition in this competition. The Gunners should be confident, despite missing several key players through injury.

Their overall form has been exceptional recently, propelling them to the top of the Premier League. Consequently, another strong performance against Diego Simeone’s famously resilient side would be a major statement. It would underline their title credentials, both domestically and in Europe.

Arsenal team news

Mikel Arteta faces some selection challenges for this match. He will be without influential captain Martin Ødegaard due to a knee injury. Unfortunately, Ødegaard joins Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines.

There is positive news in defence, however. Defender Piero Hincapie has returned to training and is available for selection tonight. In midfield, both Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi must be cautious, as they are one yellow card away from suspension. Up front, Bukayo Saka will provide the main attacking threat. He boasts an impressive goal involvement record in this competition and will likely play alongside Gabriel Martinelli and striker Viktor Gyökeres.
