Arsenal receive injury boost ahead of Athletic Bilbao clash

Arsenal have been handed an injury boost after William Saliba returned to training ahead of the club’s Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao tomorrow night.

Saliba was withdrawn early on during the 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on August 31st and sat out the weekend win over Nottingham Forest.

However, the France international appears in contention to face Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday after training with the main group in today’s session. It’s a welcome boost for Mikel Arteta, as the Gunners prepare to begin their European campaign at the San Mames Stadium.

In less positive news, there was no sign of either Bukayo Saka or Martin Odegaard. Saka is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Odegaard was substituted with a shoulder problem on Saturday.
