Huge derbies in Milan, North London and Sheffield headline our must-watch football fixtures of the coming weekend.
Five spicy fixtures you must watch this weekend:
Fiorentina vs Juventus
Fiorentina and Juventus resume rivalries this weekend, in a feud fuelled by controversial past clashes and player defections. Their meeting in Florence this week comes amid difficulties for both sides. Fiorentina are rooted to the bottom of the table and without a win, with relegation a real threat for a team that finished sixth in Serie A last season.
Juventus arrive in town similarly struggling to meet expectations. Italy’s most successful side are off the pace in the title race, though optimism has returned under new head coach Luciano Spalletti.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Sheffield United
It’s the first Steel City derby of the 2025/26 Championship campaign this weekend, with both teams in trouble.
Sheffield Wednesday’s issues resulted in a 12-point deduction before a ball had been kicked, and one win in 15 games has done little to wipe that out. That said, spirited recent draws with West Brom and Norwich have instilled some confidence into the Owls.
A fragile Sheffield United side make the short trip to Hillsborough, also in the relegation places. Expected to be among the promotion pushers, it’s been a nightmare start. Defeat to their arch-rivals could plunge either team further into crisis.

Newcastle United vs Manchester City
Newcastle United host Manchester City in one of the headline fixtures of the Premier League weekend.
The Magpies are yet to truly get going this season, with a woeful away record having hindered their hopes of Champions League qualification. Eddie Howe’s side, however, are a different proposition on home soil and have lost just one of their last four meetings with Manchester City at St James’ Park.
City will see this fixture as an acid test of their title credentials, after a statement win against Liverpool before the break.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur
Is the North London derby the most entertaining fixture on the Premier League calendar? The argument is a strong one. There’s been an average of 3.2 goals per NLD since 2018, while the two teams have often battled it out for similar ambitions.
Arsenal lead the title race and are chasing a first Premier League crown since 2004, though Spurs are sat fifth despite an inconsistent start under Thomas Frank. After a dismal derby defeat to Chelsea earlier this season, Frank knows his team must produce a better showing this time around. Denting their arch-rival’s title dream could make the Dane a cult hero.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan
The Derby della Madonnina leads our list of must-watch fixtures this weekend, as the Milan giants clash with plenty at stake.
Inter climbed to the summit of Serie A before the break, though a resurgent Rossoneri have title ambitions of their own. Third in the table, a win for Milan would see them leapfrog Inter in the table. Serie A’s title race is shaping up to be unforgettable.
