Wilshere tipped to improve after deciding to quit Arsenal

Jack Wilshere has been tipped to continue improving after he announced that he will leave Arsenal this summer.

Aside from two loan spells at Bolton and Bournemouth respectively, Wilshere has spent his entire career at Arsenal, but has finally decided that it is time to move on this summer with his contract up.

He had been offered a new deal to stay at the Emirates, but with the Gunners having concerns regarding the midfielders fitness, the new deal on the table would have seen Wilshere taking a pay cut.

Despite deciding that his future lies away from Arsenal, his soon-to-be ex teammate Danny Welbeck thinks that Wilshere will continue to improve:

Welbeck said: “I’m still going to be very close to him even though I won’t see him every day. Things change so quickly in football and I’m sure he’ll be missed, particularly by the fans.

“Jack’s contract was coming to an end, the contract was there for him to sign but he’s decided it’s best for him to leave and he feels like it’s come to a time where he’s made that decision and has to move on.

“He’s got to be positive with it, grasp the opportunity with two hands and keep improving and take himself to the next level.”

Wilshere was involved in 20 Premier League games last season, but still missed out on Gareth Southgates England squad for the World Cup.

He has been linked with the likes of Everton and West Ham.
