Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has set a new Premier League record as the oldest player to complete an ever-present campaign.
The Dutch international completed the full game as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Brentford on Sunday, meaning he has played every single possible minute of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
At 34 years & 320 days old, Van Dijk is the oldest player to have ever achieved that feat, eclipsing former Chelsea captain Terry. The latter held the previous record after playing every minute of Chelsea’s 2014/15 season.

However, Terry can take solace from the events of that captain. While Van Dijk and Liverpool have endured a disappointing campaign, Terry captained Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2015.
Chelsea finished eight points clear of Manchester City to win the Premier League under Jose Mourinho.
