UEFA announce Champions League change to benefit fans

UEFA have imposed a price cap on away tickets in European competition that will start from this season.

European football’s governing body has held talks with the European Clubs’ Association and Football Supporters’ Europe to reach an agreement on a pricing structure for the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Starting from the current campaign, there will be a maximum price permitted for away fans in UEFA club competitions.

The highest-priced ticket for away fans in the Champions League will be €60, with a €40 cap in the Europa League and €20 maximum in the Europa Conference League.

UEFA to reduce ticket prices for fans

UEFA have also announced that there will be reductions on some of these prices for 2025/26, to €50 in the Champions League, €35 in the Europa League. The maximum price will remain €20 in the UEFA Conference League from next season.

The announcement will be a welcome boost to football fans across Europe, with UEFA moving to ensure greater access to games for all.

Matchday One for the new-look league phase in UEFA’s club competitions will take place in the week commencing September 16th 2024.
