Timo Werner openly talks up potential Liverpool transfer once again

For the second time in a week, Timo Werner has openly discussed a potential move to Liverpool in the summer.

Werner has netted 21 goals and provided seven assists in the Bundesliga this season, with RB Leipzig the nearest challengers to Bayern Munich.

His impressive goalscoring form has seen him linked with a move away from the Die Roten Bullen, and has openly admitted it would be ‘fun’ to play in the Premier League, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all having been linked in recent months.

Werner netted in Leipzig’s 1-0 win over Spurs earlier this week, and following the victory over Jose Mourinho’s side, he said he was ‘very proud’ to be linked with a move to Anfield.

Now, the 23-year-old has further discussed a potential move to Merseyside, praising compatriot Jurgen Klopp, believing his ‘style of play’ would complement that of the reigning European champions.

“Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the world,” he told Sky Germany.

“There is a lot to suggest that my style of play would suit there (Liverpool).

“But I don’t think about that at the moment because we have so much to do with Leipzig.”
