Sunderland appoint Moyes as new manager

Sunderland have announced the appointment of their new manager, former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes.

The 53-year old has becomes manager of the Black Cats less than 24hours after the Sam Allardyce was confirmed as the new manager of England.

He has been out of work for eight months since being sacked by Real Sociedad back in November 2015, and will now look to rebuild his Premier League reputation following his dismal spell at Old Trafford.

Moyes said:

I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity.

I have taken over a big British club, with a great support and I’m looking forward to working in the Premier League again.
I look forward to continuing the good work done by Sam.

The Scot has signed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.
