Manchester United ‘increasingly open’ to Pogba exit as Real Madrid make a move

Manchester United are becoming ‘increasingly open’ to the idea of Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford this summer.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with a big-money move for the French World Cup winner, with Pogba reportedly having become disillusioned by United’s inability to compete for major honours.

United’s initial stance was that the 26-year-old would not be allowed to leave the club, though privately that is believed to have changed.

Pogba was involved in a vocal confrontation with a fan following United’s 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff, with the club’s disappointing season ending with another poor performance.

The £89m club-record signing has been a target for critics in recent weeks, having struggled as Manchester United missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.

According to the Independent, United’s hierarchy are becoming ‘increasingly open’ to the idea of selling Pogba this summer, with Real boss Zinedine Zidane set to make a move.

United’s £150m asking price, plus Pogba’s £500,000-a-week wage demands, will, however, make the move difficult to complete.

Real have endured a disappointing season of their own, with Zidane set to backed significantly as he looked to strengthen the 13-times European champions.

Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has emerged as the club’s number one target, whilst Zidane will also seek two more Premier League signings in Pogba and Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.
