Pictured: Alexis Sanchez finally joins Manchester United tour after visa issues

Manchester United’s pre-season preparations have been handed a boost with Alexis Sanchez joining his teammates in the USA for the rest of their tour

The Chilean returned to pre-season training at Manchester United’s AON Training complex, but was forced to stay behind in the UK as the side departed for the USA last Sunday.

The former Arsenal winger was denied a visa to enter the United States after he accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence back in February for tax fraud for on an alleged €1 million relating to image rights.

Under US law, no person who has been convicted of fraud is permitted to enter the country, however, United have worked hard with US authorities to obtain a visa waiver to allow him to participate in their preparations.

He had been training alone back in Manchester and missed his sides’ first fixture of the US tour, a 1-1 draw against Mexican side Club America, but he has now jetted out to Los Angeles to meet up with the rest of the team ahead of their next fixture against San Jose on Sunday evening.
