Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger according to reports in Germany.
Sports Bild claim that the Ligue 1 champions are on the look out for a new midfielder and have identified Schweinsteiger as a potential target, after being rebuffed by Borussia Dortmund for Julian Weigl.
The Germany captain has an uncertain future at Manchester United, despite only signing for the club 12-months ago from Bayern Munich for just £8million. The 31-year left the Bundesliga club after falling down the pecking order under a Pep Guardiola, and decided to work with former Bayern Munich boss Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.
The German hasn’t started a competitive game of football since January, limited to a number of substitute appearances for both Manchester United and Germany in the last six months due to a series of knee injuries, and coupled with Van Gaal sacking at his club, Schweinsteigers future is unclear.
French Champions PSG could make a move this summer for the Germans services as they look to replace some of experience lost by the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has of course moved to Old Trafford.
