Manchester United to sell David de Gea…but on one condition

Manchester United will allow David de Gea to leave Old Trafford in the summer according to reports this morning, but only on one condition.

It has been one of the longest running transfer saga’s in modern memory, with the Spaniard been my linked with a move to Real Madrid for at least three years!

The reigning European champions see de Gea as the natural heir to the throne which was long occupied by Iker Casillas. Keylor Navas is its current occupant, but Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is keen to have a Galactico style signing between the sticks at the Bernabeu.

Los Blancos had thought to have given up signing the Spain number one, with Athletic Bilbao ‘keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on their list of transfer targets. However he stunned the world by signing a new deal with a €80m release clause.

This has seen the Spanish giant re-assessing their options, and De Gea’s name is seemingly back in the frame.

According to Diario Gol, Manchester United are willing to sanction the transfer of De Gea back to his home city, but on just one condition…that Gareth Bale is included in the deal.

The Wales international has struggled for fitness during his four years at the club and, as a result, speculation has grown that they could be ready to let him leave at the end of the season.

Manchester United have long been linked with an interest in Bale, ever since his days at Tottenham, and despite having landed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, Mourinho still views Bale as the final piece in his attacking jigsaw.
