Manchester United make £30million move for Euro 2016 star

Manchester United have made a £30million move for Germany star Julian Draxler according to a report in today’s Star on Sunday.

The newspaper claims that Jose Mourinho has identified the Wolfsburg forward as a backup option in case their bid for Borussia Dortmunds Henrikh Mkhitaryan fails.

United opened the bidding for the Armenian at £19million, but upped it to around £28million after their opening move was rebuffed. Despite the midfielder only having a year remaining on his contract at the Westfalenstadion, Dortmund are still reluctant to sell.

Despite Mkhitaryans agent giving Manchester United encouragement to pursue the deal, United have identified Draxler as an alternative, and have proceeded to make a £30million move, and held talks last week over the 22-year old.

However, Wolfsburg have made it clear that they have no intention of selling their prized asset, who only joined the club last summer. But should United come calling, and Draxler has his head turned, then a deal to take the German to Old Trafford could be on.
