Manchester United are fu*ked! – Shearer says what everybody thinks – or does he?

The wonderful world of social media has gone mental after Alan Shearer incredibly declared live on TV that ‘Manchester United are fu*ked’ – and not many would disagree with the former striker’s assessment.

Manchester United‘s season has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride, with the Red Devils being absolute garbage under Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese leaving with the club 11 points off the top four.

They showed signs of improvement following Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s December arrival, going on a fine unbeaten run, only for it to descend into an absolute sh*t show once again, losing eight of their last 11 games.

After being battered by Barcelona and embarrassed by Everton in recent weeks, United have once again been left facing an uphill battle to finish in the top four this season, with the club currently three points behind Chelsea and one behind Arsenal in the race for fourth

Not only that, but there are now plenty of questions about the attitude, commitment and quality of a vast number of United players, with Gary Neville calling their disruptive players ‘Japanese knotweed’, while Roy Keane let rip on Paul Pogba.

Many other pundits, journalists and fans alike have had their say about United’s current plight, but few public figures have gone in quite as hard as Newcastle legend Alan Shearer…

While few would disagree with Shearer’s assessment – including Manchester United fans – it seems like we have been conned by someone with a bit too time on their hands, with this being a case of don’t always believe what you see on the internet.

Here is what he actually said:

“That’s where Ole wants to get to [to Liverpool’s level]. At the minute, in terms of football teams, Man United are f-sorry, Man city are far, far ahead of where…”

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
