Manager ‘agrees a deal’ to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea

Chelsea appear to be ready to sack Antonio Conte with reports suggesting they have now agreed a deal to bring in his replacement.

The Italian has become under increasing pressure in recent weeks after a string of disappointing results, including a surprise 4-1 defeat to Watford on Monday evening.

Conte has vocalised a number of issues in recent months, including a lack of support from the club in the transfer window and admitting that he is feeling homesick. However, despite the general though being that the Italian is unhappy at Stamford Bridge, he has revealed that he does not plan on quitting his current job.

That decision could be about to be taken out of his hands though with reports in Spain claiming that the Blues have already agreed a deal with a potential replacement. Spanish publication Sport claim that the current Premier League champions have agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.

Enrique left Barcelona last summer after a disappointing campaign in charge of the Catalan giants, finishing second behind Real Madrid in La Liga and being knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter finals.

If Enrique is appointed in the next week or so, his first game could be in charge could be against his former club, with the two sides set to meet in the Champions League last 16 stage later this month.
