Liverpool striker considering Crystal Palace move

Liverpool striker Christian Benteke is considering quitting Anfield after a dreadful first season at the club, with Crystal Palace favourites to sign the Belgian.

The 25-year old moved from Aston Villa to Liverpool in a £32.5million transfer last summer, but failed to make an impact under Brendan Rodgers or Jurgen Klopp, and could be on his way towards the Anfield exit door after just 12 months at the club.

The Daily Mirror claims that Alan Pardew has made an ambitious move to sign the Belgian after missing out on his compatriot Michy Batshuayi who will seemingly complete a move to Chelsea in the coming days.

Pardew is looking to add more firepower to his Premier League side, and believes that Benteke could be the answer. The striker scored 49 goals in just 101 appearances for Aston Villa, but only netted 10 for Liverpool last season.

With Sadio Mané’s £34million arrival at Anfield, Benteke’s opportunities are set to be limited further. The club are looking to recoup at least £30million of the £32.5million that they shelled out on the striker.
