Liverpool and Spurs dealt major transfer blow

Liverpool and Spurs have been dealt a major transfer blow in regards to their pursuit of Argentina international Javier Pastore.

Both Premier League clubs are said to have lodged offers with PSG for the classy playmaker, although reports on Metro today suggest the player would prefer a move to Italy.

Pastore made his name in Serie A after impressing during his time at Palermo. In Italy he developed a reputation as one of Europe’s top attacking midfielders and moved to PSG in a £50 million move in 2011.

However, due to the French side spending mega money on the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the 28-year-old has found game time hard to come by this season, and wants to move in order to secure first-team football as he aims to make Argentina’s squad for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Inter Milan are now said to be favourites to secure his signature this month.
