Jon Dadi Bodvarsson told he can leave Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly told player Jon Dadi Bodvarsson that he can leave the club.

Joining the club last summer, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and his time at Wolves appear to be at its end. The Icelandic international has been told by the club that he can leave, after just one season in the Midlands.

Bodvarsson was part of the historical Iceland side who beat England last year in the European Championships. Upon an impressive stint with the Iceland team last summer, Wolves captured Bodvarsson’s services.

Last season Bodvarsson would play 42 league games for the club. However despite being a frequent feature in the Wolves side, Bodvarsson would only score three goals and record three assists all season. In addition to this the Iceland international was also left out of the squad’s pre-season tour of Austria.

It has also been reported that Wolves manager Nuno Espirito has deemed Bodvarsson “surplus to requirements”.

Even with two years left on his Wolves deal, it would appear as if Bodvarsson is seemingly set to depart Molineux. Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy is said to be interested in the player.
