Here’s who will win in the Premier League top four race

The race for the 2020-21 Premier League title is all but over as Manchester City have a 14-point lead with just eight games to go.

However, the battle for a top four finish and Champions League football next season is very much alive as any three from nine have a realistic chance of qualifying.

Chelsea are on 51 points in fourth place whilst Aston Villa down in 10th are on 41 points with a game in hand. The likes of the Blues, Manchester United, Leicester City and Arsenal are all involved in European and/or FA Cup action too to potentially cause a distraction.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are five points behind Leicester City and involved in both the Champions League and FA Cup. Even still, with how well the German coaches side are playing and the depth he has in his squad, we expect them to finish in the top four. Their remaining fixtures also include West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham.

Manchester United have an eight-point lead over West Ham United in fifth place as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done an excellent job so far this campaign. The Red Devils are still in the Europa League though, with a trip to Granada on the cards next month and a potential semi-final before the Premier League season is complete too.

With how well United are performing this season and with games still to come against Brighton, Burnley, Leeds United, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers, we don’t see them slipping up.

Leicester City are having their best season since winning the Premier League in 2015-16. Brendan Rodgers’ side are into the FA Cup semi-finals and have been very consistent in the league. Those who tipped the Foxes pre-season know all about how to employ the best strategies when it comes to finding the best value bets.

They currently hold a seven-point advantage over West Ham and have to travel to the London Stadium next month. We wouldn’t be surprised if they won in the capital. Following that, with fixtures against West Brom, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United should be enough to confirm a Champions League spot for next season.

West Ham have had an excellent season but their performances versus the top sides have cost them an unlikely top four finish. They have to play the likes of Leicester, Chelsea and Everton in the remaining weeks too, so we expect David Moyes’ side to fall short. The bookmakers agree as they are outsiders to break into the top four according to the latest odds by Oddschecker.

Jose Mourinho missed a great opportunity to finally put trophy in Tottenham Hotspur’s cabinet when they were upset by Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League and they look set to miss out on the top four too. You could argue it’s in their own hands at least, with remaining games against Manchester United, Everton, Aston Villa and Leicester, but Spurs have let themselves down all too often this campaign to suggest they will finish in the top four.
