Five wingers who could replace Michael Olise at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are likely to be preparing for life without Michael Olise, who is reportedly edging closer to completing a move to Chelsea for a fee believed to be in the region of £35m, with his release clause with Roy Hodgson’s side being triggered by the Blues. Olise has caught the eye with plenty of strong performances for the Eagles, since signing from Reading back in 2021.

The winger made 40 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, and chipped in with two goals and 11 assists, which makes for impressive reading. These performances seemingly haven’t gone unnoticed, with the midfielder heading for the Selhurst Park exit door, even though he’s currently ruled out of action through injury.

It’s been revealed by experts at Bonus Code Bets that Crystal Palace are priced at 8/1 on Sky Bet to be relegated from the Premier League for the 2023/24 season, which could be a tempting bet for some punters with Olise seemingly leaving the club. Below, you’ll find the betting odds for relegation on Sky Bet in the Premier League.

  • Luton Town @ 4/11
  • Sheffield United @ 4/9
  • Nottingham Forest @ 9/4
  • Everton @ 5/2
  • Wolves @ 5/2
  • Bournemouth @ 11/4
  • Burnley @ 10/3
  • Fulham @ 11/2

We’re going to take a look at five potential wingers that Crystal Palace could target as Olise’s replacement before the summer transfer window reaches a conclusion.

Nathan Tella

Tella caught the eye with some strong performances for Burnley in the Championship in the 2022/23 season, as they clinched promotion back into the Premier League under the management of Vincent Kompany.

The 24-year-old scored 19 goals, and was on hand to provide five assists from 45 appearances for Burnley last term, and you’d imagine that he could be tempted by a move to Selhurst Park, as he’s a player that deserves a consistent run in the team with a Premier League.

Southampton will be looking to keep hold of Tella for their own promotion push, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the Eagles are to test the Championship side with a formal bid for Tella’s services.

 Jack Clarke

Clarke only signed permanently for Sunderland back in 2022, but has wasted no time in making a positive impact with the Championship side. He scored 11 goals, and provided 14 assists for his Sunderland team-mates last season, as they narrowly missed out on promotion into the Premier League, after a defeat in their play-off semi-final.

At the age of 20, he’s a player with a bright future ahead of him, and it would be an excellent bit of business if Crystal Palace were to sign a player of his quality and potential this summer.

Cole Palmer

Palmer is likely to find regular game time hard to come by with Manchester City, which is understandable given the quality within their starting XI. The England youth international has shown glimpses of his exciting potential over the years, and will surely be tempted by a loan move this summer.

Crystal Palace could offer him regular minutes as well, although they’ll have to act swiftly to secure any sort of agreement for the Manchester City youngster, with other Premier League clubs rumoured to be keen on signing him themselves.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Hudson-Odoi is another Chelsea player who looks set to leave the club before the summer transfer window reaches a conclusion. The winger has found regular minutes tough to find in recent years with the Blues, and spent the 2022/23 season on loan with German side, Bayer Leverkusen.

Fulham are the favourites to strike a deal with their London rivals for Hudson-Odoi, and so Palace will have to act swiftly if they’re to beat the Cottagers into landing his signature for this year’s Premier League campaign.

Zian Flemming

Flemming is currently playing his football in the Championship with Millwall, but could be worthy of a move for Crystal Palace, as he’s a player that has shown his quality on the ball with the Lions.

The Dutchman scored 27 goals and provided 11 assists in 63 appearances for Fortuna Sittard, before moving to Millwall, where he scored 15 goals in his debut season in English football. He could be a risky signing given that he doesn’t have any experience of playing in the top-flight, but sometimes you have to take risks, and Flemming could be worth the punt.
