Emery ‘very proud’ of Arsenal youngsters following FA Cup win

Unai Emery said he was very proud of the youngsters in his Arsenal squad after they steered the club into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Emery rested a number of his attacking players for the trip to Blackpool with Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah being given rare opportunities to impress.

However, both players put in good performances, with Willock netting two goals as Arsenal cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win. Speaking after the game, Emery said he was very proud of the two youngsters.

“We did everything today every player worked so hard. It was important for us to win today because we have 13 victories in this competition so today with this mentality we did well.

“We imposed our quality on the game and stuck to our game plan and it was good to see the young players do well today as well.

“I am very proud of [Joe] Willock and Eddie [Nketiah] because Eddie had three good chances to score and Willock scored two. They train very well in the second team and with us in training as well.”

Arsenal have won the FA Cup more than any other club, lifting the famous trophy 13 times.
