DONE DEAL: Kevin Stewart leaves Liverpool for Hull City

Liverpool have officially announced that midfielder Kevin Stewart has left the club and joined Hull City on a permanent deal.

Kevin Stewart becomes Hull City’s third signing of the summer after Frazier Campbell and Ola Aina. Sky Sports report that the fee for Stewart could rise to £7.5m.

At 23-years-old, Stewart never developed enough to make an impact in the Liverpool team. However, he will now be looking to nail down a regular starting spot at Hull as he looks to kick off his senior career.

Stewart is a strong defensive midfielder who is also capable of playing centre back. However he is also technically gifted and is able to contribute more offensively.

Originally joining on a free transfer from Spurs in 2014, Stewart never quite made the grade at Liverpool. However, in November last season Stewart signed a new contract with the Reds but only managed to feature nine times. With his career stagnating it makes perfect sense to leave and forge a career for himself elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Andrew Robertson is going in the opposite direction as he is joining Liverpool on an £8m deal from Hull City.
