Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool target Lazio star

Premier League trio Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool are all interested in signing Lazio’s centre-back Stefan De Vrij.

The 25-year-old rose to prominence during Holland’s superb run to the World Cup semi-final in 2014. His performances in Brazil earned him a move from boyhood club Feyenoord to Italian side Lazio, were he has continued to impressive with his solid defensive displays and composure on the ball.

Although Talksport are reporting that the talented defender is set to agree a new contract with the Serie A club, any deal is said to include a buy-out clause of £20 million, a fee that would be seen as bargain by Premier League clubs.

Liverpool have held a long term interest in the defender, but it now seems that they face a fight from top-six rivals Chelsea and Man United for his signature, as all three clubs look to add defensive reinforcements to their squads this summer.

Serie A Champions Juventus are also said to be interested in signing De Vrij, although the player himself is said to prefer a move to England.
