Chelsea forward Pedro has signed a one year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2020 it has been announced today.
Pedro arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2015 after he shunned a move to join Manchester United, and immediately started to make an impression by scoring on his debut.
His first season wouldn’t quite go to plan though, scoring just seven League goals for Chelsea as Jose Mourinho’s side struggled to defend their Premier League title.
However the arrival of Antonio Conte saw Pedro thrust into a more prominent role, scoring 9 goals and providing 9 assists on the way to re-claiming the title.
His opportunities dwindled once again last season as Conte tweaked his formation, but has shown signs in pre-season that he could thrive under new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.
“It is very good for me, I am really happy here in the club, with my team-mates, the supporters and the club in general,” Pedro told the official Chelsea website.
“It’s important for me to continue with Chelsea, I am comfortable here and want to win new titles and trophies. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy.”
His new deal keeps the former Barcelona forward at the club until 2020
