Chelsea have undoubtedly been one of the greatest club’s of the Premier League era. So we thought we’d take a look at The Blues five highest Premier League appearances makers ever …

Ivanovic played for the Blues between 2008 – 2017 after joining from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. The Serbia international was originally signed as a centre-halve but ended up playing most of his football for Chelsea as a right-back. Dennis Wise – 261 appearances

Tied on the exact same amount of Blues appearances as Ivanovic is the club’s former captain and fan favourite Dennis Wise, who represented the Stamford Bridge club between 1990-2001.

Wisey as he was known was renowned for being one of the hardest tacklers in the Premier League, although he was also a fine footballer, who possessed superb technical ability.

His time with Chelsea would come before the injection of Roman Abramovich’s millions, although he still managed to win two FA Cups, the League Cup and the now defunct European Cup Winner’s Cup.

Petr Cech – 333 appearances

The £7 million Chelsea paid French side Rennes for young goalkeeper Petr Cech in 2004, will surely go down in history as one of the most astute pieces of business the club has ever done.

The Czech Republic international was the Blues number one for over a decade, and will rightly be remembered as one of the Premier League’s greatest ever goalkeepers. In his prime the hugely talented Cech was the very definition of ”nine point a season keeper.”

Much of Chelsea’s success over his decade with the club was due to his brilliance between the sticks. He then left the Blues to join Arsenal in 2015, for whom he still plays.

Although he plays for one of the Chelsea’s main London rivals, he still receives a warm reception whenever he returns to Stamford Bridge, which is a testament to how highly rated he is by the club’s fans.
