Can Fulham Make It Out of the Relegation Zone?

As the FA cup draws on, many are beginning to look not to the top of the pack but actually to the bottom, where there is an interesting jostling going on between some of the teams. With Fulham currently in the relegation zone, is there anything that can be done for them to inch their way out? Let’s take a look.

The Position

Fulham are currently in 18th place at the top of the relegation zone. They have really not had the best of seasons, but they have at least managed to stand above West Brom and Sheffield United. So far, we have seen them win four of their games, lose eleven, and draw ten.

There could be some scope for them to improve their position here and make it out of the relegation zone, but it will take a lot of work on the part of the players. If they are willing to put in the work and the training needed, there is always a chance that they will be able to pull themselves out. They are only three points away from Newcastle United, so the potential is there.

Upcoming Games

A great place to look for the first insight into what to expect from Fulham’s performance should be in their upcoming fixtures. By looking at Premier League odds, one might be able to gain an inkling into what could happen as the season progresses.

The road ahead for Fulham is going to be a difficult one. They might be able to bag a few more draws along the way, especially against Crystal Palace. However, with key matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City on the cards, it is going to be difficult for them to grab a win.

Other Teams

One of the best chances for Fulham to make it out of the relegation zone might come from not just their own performance but from that of other teams. Newcastle United is at the bottom of the safe zone, and they are going to be fighting to ensure that their survival is intact.

However, they too have a few difficult games ahead of them. We might just see Fulham managing to piggyback over the Magpies. The latter’s matches against Chelsea and Manchester United are likely to prove difficult, and this could cause them to slip further down the table, allowing Fulham to climb ahead.

There is still plenty of time left in the season, and many factors that could determine how Fulham are going to perform. Though it might seem like they are stuck in relegation for now, the gap between them and Newcastle United is smaller than one might imagine. The fate of both teams might play out very quickly depending on the outcome of their upcoming matches.

Whether you are a fan of either team, or you just want to follow along to see how the next season might be affected, you are going to find lots of interesting insights coming up soon.
