Balague reveals why he thinks Arsenal will beat Chelsea in the Europa League final

Guillem Balague reckons Arsenal will beat Chelsea in the Europa League final because of their fearsome front-two.

Arsenal beat Spanish side Valencia 7-3 on aggregate in their semi-final clash, whilst Chelsea booked their place in the final via a penalty shoot-out victory over Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany.

The London rivals will meet in the final on May 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, with Spanish football pundit Balague believing Arsenal will emerge victorious.

Balague believes Unai Emery’s strike force of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored all seven semi-final goals between them, gives Arsenal a slight advantage.

“I don’t think Arsenal have a great team or have a good defence but up front they have a £110m strike force – that at some point had to make a difference,” Balague said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“They have two top strikers and anytime they were near the box you thought they were going to hurt Valencia. My only worry for Arsenal is that you look at those two strikers, but who else is in that team that can get to that level? The wide players are OK but not great. At the back they make mistakes.

“Arsenal need to refresh the team and get rid of some players in their 30s – I’m not sure the money is available.

“I think Arsenal will win the Europa League final.”
