Arsenal star to miss Premier League opener against Liverpool

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is set to miss the start of the Premier League season after his Euro 2016 exploits.

The midfielder was forced to miss last nights 2-0 Semi-Final defeat to Portugal through suspension, and the tournament is likely to take its toll and force him to miss Arsenal’s opening game against Liverpool.

Ramsey told the London Evening Standard:

I am back on August 1, so I have a few weeks off but, obviously, it kicks off a couple of weeks afterwards.

A few years ago, Germany won the World Cup and the German players came in just a few days before the first game of the season, but they missed that.
[Arsene Wenger] does like to give players a little break and I’ll be getting the same treatment. I feel I need a few weeks off now.

The midfielder was involved in every single match for Wales in Euro 2016 until last night after he picked up his second yellow card of the tournament in the quarter final win over Belgium.
