Arne Slot is confident that Liverpool will be much improved next season after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
Liverpool ended their Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Anfield, a result which saw the Reds finish the season fifth.
Curtis Jones opened the scoring for Liverpool in the second half, but Brentford fought back to level through Kevin Schade just six minutes later.
The draw was enough to secure Champions League qualification, though the feeling at Liverpool is of disappointment. After their title win in 2024/25 and record-breaking recruitment last summer, Liverpool have performed well below expectations.
Slot has insisted that his team will be better for the experience next season, and believes better luck with injuries and ‘one or two’ signings can take Liverpool back to the top.
“There are more habits I would like to get rid of. It’s not nice to concede a goal at any moment,” he said to Match of the Day.
“Far too many times this season, when we are the better team, people fail to notice this because we don’t create many chances.
“Many times this season, we have been counter-attacked and conceded. We deserved to qualify for the Champions League. We’ve been in the top five for large parts of the season.
“We brought in a lot of players last season. When they’re available again, that will be a change. Every football club will sign one or two and we will do that. We need everyone available and then our results will be better.”
