2. James Maddison (Tottenham Hotspur)
Many have referred to Maddison joining Tottenham Hotspur from the newly relegated side Leicester City as the signing of the summer. Maddison’s impact on the team has been immediate, with the midfielder building close relationships with Heung-min Son and Cristian Romero. But it’s not just his lively presence in the locker room; Maddison has impacted Tottenham’s style of play, bagging two goals and two assists so far. Considering it’s still early in the season and Maddison is already off to a flying start, picking him up in fantasy football is a must for players looking for a midfielder who can make plays, get assists, and score themselves.
3. James Ward-Prowse (West Ham)
James Ward-Prowse has had a dream start to his West Ham career after joining from Southampton over the summer. The 28-year-old has made three appearances for the Hammers and made two assists in his debut game against Chelsea, winning 3-1. He later scored his first goal against Brighton, where the final score was again 3-1. Like James Maddison, Ward-Prowse will be a good selection if you’re looking for a midfielder who can score and assist their teammates.
Even though it’s still early in the Premier League season, a few players are starting to look like some worthy pick-ups for your team over the coming weeks, especially if you’re focused on keeping clean sheets and getting points for assists and goals.
